Woman's Final Recap
8 Sep by Zac Nicol
Afternoon everyone,
Not our day today but what an absolute amazing performance by each one of you. The resilience this team has is fantastic. To be 3:0 down half time and take the game to shoot outs is a fantastic effort from each one of you. The hunger and grit that you guys all showed in the second half was amazing to coach and watch from the sidelines. It takes something very special from a team to come from such a deficit and really bring it to the opposition in the last half.
Moving forward it’s been such a pleasure of mine coaching each and every one a part of this fantastic club even though we don’t have any women’s teams in the grand final. I feel like we have all had such an amazing season and the camaraderie in both teams is amazing to be around. This club is such a special club, and it’s been a privilege and an honour to coach you all in the 2024 season.
I would like to thank Kiwi for all her hard work this year. You have set up voting for both teams each week, on top of this you have once again been the women’s convenor, and the Division One women’s team manager. The team and I are very lucky to have you on board, and all your work doesn’t go unnoticed. Also, a big thank you again to Sue for being the team manager for Div 2, all the Div 2 ladies are super appreciative of the work you have done.
We do have two teams in Grand Finals next weekend. Our under 14’s had a 3:1 win, and our Div 2 men’s beat Corio this afternoon 4:0 so if you haven’t got anything planned on Saturday it would be great to have the Jag army down there to cheer them on.
Once again, thank you all for such an amazing season, it’s been a privilege to coach you all, the growth this group has had this year has been such an honour to watch unfold but I don’t believe for one second we have hit our ceiling. I feel this group can do big and wonderful things in the 2025 hockey season!!!!
Thank you.
For one last time this year – 3, 2, 1 JAGSSSS
